How much does smog repair cost?
Wide range — depends on the issue. O2 sensor: $150-300. Catalytic converter: $400-1500. Full emissions repair: $200-2500. We give written estimate before any work.
Can I qualify for the BAR Consumer Assistance Program?
Yes if you meet income requirements. BAR CAP covers up to $850 in emissions repairs for qualifying drivers. We can help you complete the CAP paperwork.
Will my car pass after the repair?
If the right repair is made AND OBD readiness monitors complete (typically 50-100 miles of driving after repair), yes. Don't retest immediately — drive normally for a week first.
Why do California smog repairs cost more?
California uses CARB-approved (California Air Resources Board) parts which cost more than 49-state parts. Required by law. Aftermarket non-CARB parts are illegal in CA.
